FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas — Almost 30 pounds of cocaine was found by Fayette County deputies inside a diaper bag and the center console of the vehicle during a traffic stop on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

Sheriff Keith Korenek says Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K9 partner Lobos stopped an eastbound Ford Escape on Interstate 10 at the 660-mile marker — near the town of Flatonia — for a traffic violation around 2:15 p.m.

Deputies say the driver and passenger had conflicting stories and “extremely abnormal nervous behavior,” along with many signs they were involved in narcotics trafficking.
