Ron Cloward, owner of Top Dog Police K-9 Training and Consulting, is a retired police lieutenant in California. Ron was a handler of three different police canines during his 26-year career. Ron and his final partner, Pele, were named the Top Dog and Top Competitor in 1997.

Ms. Laura DeBuck is an Explosives Chemist at Signature Science, LLC, where she instructs the chemistry or energetic material and focuses on the production of homemade explosives. Ms. DeBuck has expertise in the preparation and properties of various explosives and identification of explosives with field detection equipment, small-scale sensitivity testing, and larger scale detonations.

Bob Eden is a 28-year retired police veteran with over 35 years of dog training experience in law enforcement, military and personal protection applications. In his final years of law enforcement, he was a detective with the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit investigating organized crime.

Marty Mahon is a police sergeant with the South San Francisco Police Department, located in Northern California. He has been a canine handler for 16 years and is currently the head trainer of the canine unit, which consists of 7 dual-purpose canine teams.

Sergeant Doug Roller (retired) was the Chief Trainer for the Los Angeles Police Departments (LAPD) K9 Platoon, Metropolitan Division for 17 years, retiring in March of 2013. He is a nationally recognized expert in K9 tactics, perimeter containments, and search techniques, with over 6,500 K9 deployments.

Sergeant Soares currently supervises the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). Prior to MPPD, Sergeant Soares worked for the East Palo Alto Police Department for 9 years.
