TUCSON, Ariz. – Two men were arrested in two separate attempts to smuggle nearly 74 pounds of methamphetamine and nearly four ounces of fentanyl during the weekend, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The first incident occurred when CBP referred a 27-year-old man for additional questioning and a canine alerted to an odor it is trained to detect.

Officers discovered 74 pounds of meth concealed in the vehicle’s gas tank, with a street value of $220,000.
