Maine’s four newest police dogs and their handlers recently graduated from the State Police K9 Patrol School.
The canine teams have had 14 weeks of training at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Vassalboro. The graduation took place on the parade grounds of the academy and the teams showed off their new skills following the ceremonies.
The four teams included Officer Katie Thurlow and K9 Creed, South Portland Police; Officer John Rogers and K9 Gunther, York Police; Corp. Troy Hood and K9 Murphy, Maine Department of Corrections; and Trooper G.J. Neagle and K9 Junior, State Police – Troop C.
