K9 Grim located a wanted Sutherlin man Wednesday night thanks to an alert citizen.
Sergeant Brad O’Dell of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday a Sutherlin Police officer attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield and eventually ran from the vehicle in the area of Driver Valley Road and Old Pioneer Road. Several officers from the Sutherlin Police Department along with deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office searched the area without success.
At about 7:20 p.m. a citizen called 9-1-1 reporting that a suspicious man had come to his front door asking for water and a phone, in the 100 block of Driver Valley Road. The resident believed the man might have been the suspect from the earlier incident.
