Prevent Overheating

Hot temperatures and excess sun exposure can cause your pet to become dehydrated and overheated. Prevent overheating by providing ample cool water, keeping your dog indoors during the hottest part of the day, and shaving thick-coated hair to a one-inch length. Just be sure not to shave the hair down to the skin, which can increase your dog’s risk to sunburn.
